Secure-Facility RN: Prison Healthcare Specialist
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Nurse with prison clearance to join our client'shealthcare team in Livingston. As a General Nurse with prison clearance, you will play a crucial role in providing healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, ensuring their well-being while adhering to the unique challenges and security protocols of a correctional facility. Key Responsibilities: 1. Patient Assessment and Care: o Conduct comprehensive health assessments of inmates, including physical and mental health evaluations. o Develop and implement individualized care plans, providing nursing care, medications, and treatments as required. 2. Emergency Response: o Be prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies within the prison facility. o Administer basic life support measures and coordinate with the healthcare team for advanced care when necessary. 3. Medication Management: o Administer medications accurately and safely, adhering to prescribed dosages and schedules. o Monitor inmates for medication compliance and report any adverse reactions or concerns. 4. Security and Safety: o Comply with all prison security measures and safety protocols. o Maintain awareness of potential security risks while providing healthcare services. 5. Documentation and Reporting: o Maintain detailed and accurate medical records for each patient, including electronic health records (EHR). o Prepare reports and documentation in accordance with prison healthcare policies and regulatory requirements. 6. Infection Control: o Implement strict infection control measures to prevent the spread of diseases within the prison population. o Promote and educate inmates on proper hygiene and disease prevention. 7. Collaboration and Communication: o Collaborate with the prison's healthcare team, including physicians, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care. o Communicate effectively with inmates, addressing their health needs and concerns. Qualifications: * Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered Nurse (RN). * Previous experience working as a General Nurse in a correctional facility or similar secure environment with prison clearance. * Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. * Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a challenging and secure environment. * Knowledge of correctional healthcare regulations and protocols is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
