Professor of Voice
Job Summary The Guildhall School of Music and Drama seeks to appoint exceptional vocal practitioners to join our distinguished and world-renowned Vocal and Opera Faculty. We are looking for an outstanding educator, passionate about fostering exceptional talent, and dedicated to inspiring artistic individuality. As a teacher, they will promote and facilitate the development of a healthy, expressive and resilient vocal technique. Responsibilities * Provide one‐to‐one voice lessons and class teaching, offering pedagogical and artistic mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students. * Promote and facilitate the development of a healthy, expressive and resilient vocal technique. * Mentor students in Western classical vocal music and opera, while also embracing diverse cultural influences, contemporary trends and new directions for the future of vocal performance. * Celebrate tradition, encourage innovation and be broad‐minded about career choices available to students. * Connect Guildhall with musical networks at local, national and international levels. * Manage a voice studio and work collaboratively in a busy and thriving musical institution. Qualifications * Highly accomplished vocal practitioner with extensive experience of conservatoire‐level or equivalent teaching. * Specific knowledge and experience of Western classical vocal music and opera. * Capacity to embrace diverse cultural influences, contemporary trends and new directions for vocal performance. * Strong organisational and personal skills necessary to manage a voice studio. * Awareness of performer health and wellbeing. * Dedication to driving efforts towards diversity, equity and inclusion in the vocal community and curriculum.
