Security Officer

Job Overview Full-time, permanent. Pay: £14.16 per hour. Responsibilities * Protect customer property, people, and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with site‐published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes. * Deliver results that meet or exceed KPIs/Service Level Agreements, ensuring full responsibility and accountability to help retain the contract. * Undertake additional training and continuous self‐development as directed by the Security Account Manager. Main Duties Operations * Ensure compliance with all policies, UK law, and guidance bodies as directed by the Security Account Manager. * Fully complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions. * Review and familiarize oneself with any changes in the Assignment Instructions, and suggest amendments to improve service levels. * Maintain the required licences (front‐line security or door supervision, CCTV PSS SIA) and renew them 16 weeks before expiry. * Adhere to legal obligations and safety requirements; follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority. * Work systematically, methodically, and orderly. Training * Complete all required competency training satisfactorily. * Undertake additional training for continuous self‐development as directed by the Security Account Manager. * Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop expertise through continual professional development. Security and Health & Safety * Immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site. * Stay alert to threats or changes and take appropriate action to reduce risk. * Use common sense and initiative by involving others if a situation appears threatening. * Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers. * Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly after any incident for the Incident Report process. * Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client. * Ensure check calls are made at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions. * Call emergency services and Communications Centre to report all incidents. Qualifications * Previous security experience. * Valid SIA licence. * SC clearance desirable. * Ability to obtain and maintain front‐line security or door supervision licence, and CCTV PSS SIA licence.
