Role Profile

Reports to: Head of Ecommerce

Location: Remote

Salary: Dependent on experience

Hours: 42.5 hours per week (8.30am to 5.30pm)

Role Overview

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Magento Frontend Developer to join our team of talented developers. In this role, you’ll work closely with our experienced Magento team to create bespoke, high-quality solutions for a portfolio of eCommerce websites. While past Magento experience is preferred, we’re open to candidates with a strong background in frontend development for PHP-based frameworks. You’ll receive mentorship and guidance, but a passion for learning and self-improvement is key to thriving in this role.

What does a typical day look like?

  • Develop custom frontend Magento modules and functionality, ensuring seamless user experiences.
  • Collaborate with the team on scoping and estimation sessions for new projects and features.
  • Peer-review code contributions from other developers to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Provide technical advice and support to the wider eCommerce team regarding Magento frontend development.

Essential skills

  • Proficiency in CSS preprocessors.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • A keen focus on performance, security, and user experience in eCommerce.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Experience developing custom frontend solutions for Magento 2 (Commerce [Enterprise] edition is a bonus).
  • Familiarity with Magento’s frontend architecture.
  • Knowledge of PHP to collaborate effectively with backend developers.
  • Experience with debugging tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management processes.
  • Exposure to containerization tools.
