About the RoleCaval Recruitment is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join a leading civil construction project. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated environmental professional to play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered in compliance with environmental legislation, best practice, and sustainability goals.

You will work closely with site teams, project managers, and regulatory bodies to manage environmental risks and drive a culture of environmental responsibility across all stages of construction.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and site-specific environmental controlsConduct regular environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments across active construction sitesEnsure full compliance with relevant environmental legislation, permits, and consentsProvide environmental advice and guidance to site teams and project managersInvestigate and report environmental incidents, implementing corrective actions where requiredLiaise with regulatory authorities, local councils, and other stakeholdersPrepare and submit environmental reports and documentationDeliver environmental inductions and toolbox talks to site personnelMonitor site activities including waste management, dust, noise, water, and ecology

Requirements

Proven experience in an Environmental Advisor or similar role within civil construction or infrastructureStrong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and planning conditionsExperience developing and implementing EMPs and CEMP (Construction Environmental Management Plans)Relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related fieldIEMA membership or equivalent (desirable)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsFull UK driving licence
